RIVHAB is a certified 8(a) and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) headquartered in Eagle, Idaho. We specialize in professional engineering and science related services focusing on water resources, river hydraulics and 2D hydraulic modeling, stream restoration, fish and wildlife habitat including engineered log jams and large wood structures, fishways/fish ladders/fish barriers, irrigation diversions, wetlands, and natural-process designs for sustainable landscapes. RIVHAB was started in 2019 by President, Jeanne McFall, to provide science-based engineering designs. Our team includes four engineering and survey staff, a wetland scientist, a civil designer, a sr. fluvial geomorphologist, and a sr. Plant Botanist/Ecologist. We are looking to hire a PLS and a Sr. Engineer, as well as a summer intern.
We’re the only riverscape specialists in the Western U.S. with the ability to collect LiDAR in-house to provide exceptional terrain mapping through even the thickest vegetation, often a necessity in rural counties. This technology provides significant cost-savings towards traditional topographic surveying and greatly improves model and design accuracy as well as our remote sensing capabilities and GIS analysis.
Our team holds Professional Engineering licenses in the states of Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Wyoming. We have certified FAA pilots on staff and a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL).
8(a), Woman-Owned Business, Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Business.
Our people and experience make the difference. We are experts regarding watershed assessments, alternative analysis, feasibility, survey, river corridor ecology, terrain mapping, design, permitting and construction in waterways.
Precise surface models to inform the best engineering designs.
Understanding groundwater interactions for improved natural resources.
Precision accuracy for quality control.
We own the best technology LiDAR drone capabilities to provide terrain maps through the thickest of vegetation. Our sonar can mount to one of our boats to provide underwater topography.
3D terrain mapping and habitat assessments made simple with high resolution imagery.
Temporary channel bypass for minimal turbidity during construction.
Wetland bank creation during construction.
Our team is led by an experienced fisheries and hydraulic engineer with senior scientists excelling in geomorphology and ecology. RIVHAB was started to provide science-based technical expertise as a team focused on stream and floodplain restoration designs, increasing resilience, and improving habitat for both fish and wildlife. Our expanded services include wetland science and delineations, LiDAR drone and topo/bathymetry surveys, environmental compliance, civil and hydraulic engineering expertise, GIS mapping, and site/civil drafting. We provide hydraulic and fisheries structures and efficiently focus projects to address limiting factors while achieving objectives from initial dirt-kicking through collaborative design and construction.
We are currently licensed for professional engineering work in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, and Wyoming.
Providing quality and licensed designs, management, and implementation of construction and construction oversight. Our team works with you from start-up to final substantial completion of construction. We work with you from an initial "kicking dirt" site visit where we generate ideas on the ground, developing preliminary plans or alternatives, cost estimating, assisting with permitting, 2D and 3D modeling of terrain and water, final designs, through final construction. We are experts at the Public Works construction process and work great with Contractors (references provided upon request). Our ability to communicate project needs to various stakeholders has facilitated success of several habitat and engineering projects for the state of Idaho. We are also a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) to ensure quality control and compliance in sensitive waters including ESA-listed species.
We meet you with enthusiasm and professionalism to assist you in constructing your vision towards a final product, whether it be increasing rearing capacity, expanding floodplains and wetlands, civil design and CAD drafting, improving water supply, or navigating through environmental permits. Our backgrounds are diverse but we all have a profound appreciation of wildlife and fisheries and will work with you to help make your vision a reality. Our goal is successful collaboration with professionalism to obtain positive project outcomes.
